The encounter between the magic of Venice and artisan craftsmanship
Incontro is a solid wood living room table, masterfully crafted from reclaimed oak and iron—a testament to the artistry of Italian craftsmen. The wood comes from the iconic Venetian briccole: numbered poles driven into the lagoon bed, emerging above the surface, which serve as guides to delineate navigable channels, deeply intertwined with the history of the Serenissima. This wood possesses extraordinary aesthetic properties, enhanced by water erosion and the action of local mollusks which, feeding on the wood, create characteristic holes.
A meticulous artisanal process gives new life to a material that would otherwise have been destined for oblivion, transforming it into a piece of furniture that encapsulates all the beauty and magic of a truly unique territory. The base consists of six metal sheets of variable thickness, skillfully assembled through visible welds. Four vertical sheets, each 20 centimeters wide, are connected via an internal double-H structure, supporting the 240-centimeter-long tabletop. A section of oak trunk is inserted between the sheets, creating a surprising and unexpected detail.
The tabletop is made with solid wood boards of varying widths and a thickness of 4 centimeters. The outer edges are left in their raw state to preserve their natural beauty. This collection is an ode to the beauty of imperfection and celebrates local craftsmanship, mastery, and dedication to a profession that has always represented the essence of Made in Italy. Each piece is unique and unrepeatable. Only twenty exclusive tables make up this series, emphasizing the intrinsic value of each one. A numbered plaque, with customizable inscription, guarantees the exclusivity of each table.
