Plants & garden
Plants and garden design integrates the interior project with its vegetal dimension. Gardens, terraces and indoor plants selected for their habit, seasonal flowering and relationship with the architecture and light of the spaces.
Method
For us, planting is part of the interior project, not an afterthought. Plants enter the concept phase alongside materials, light and furniture. Selection takes place at the nursery, plant by plant, assessing habit and phytosanitary condition. We work with specialised agronomists and nurserymen.
Plants and garden design phases
1. Botanical and environmental analysis
survey of site conditions, with assessment of sun exposure, ventilation, altitude, soil type and microclimate. Analysis of the phytosanitary condition of existing plants and evaluation of possible new integrations.
2. Planting concept
development of an overall design vision defining plant volumes, species, seasonal flowering, chromatic ranges and foliage textures, in relation to the architecture, the light and the growth patterns of the selected species.
3. Technical design
preparation of planting plans showing the position of each species, with specifications for planting distances, planting levels, root ball dimensions, indications for soil preparation and the irrigation system layout.
4. Nursery selection and procurement
identification of nurseries and suppliers on the basis of the species specified in the project. Direct selection of plants, with assessment of habit, root development and phytosanitary condition. Preparation and negotiation of quotations, and definition of delivery timings.
5. Planting and establishment
direct supervision of the planting of each species according to the indications of the technical design. Assistance during the establishment phase, with monitoring of irrigation, fertilisation and response to environmental conditions.
6. Maintenance plan and handover
definition of the guidelines for the ordinary and seasonal management of the planting, with specifications for irrigation at full operation, pruning, fertilisation, any necessary replacements and the schedule of maintenance interventions.
Applications
Residential gardens
complete design of private and residential gardens, with definition of the planting layout, pathways, external paving and irrigation system.
Terraces and balconies
planting design for small outdoor spaces, with selection of species suited to container growing, structural load constraints and exposure conditions.
Conservatories and winter gardens
glazed environments intended for cultivation and occupation, with selection of species according to controlled temperature, humidity and ventilation.
Roof gardens and green roofs
green roof systems designed with attention to structural loads, waterproofing and drainage layers, and the selection of species resistant to wind and temperature fluctuation.
Indoor plants
selection and placement of species for interior spaces, with attention to compatibility with natural light, temperature and humidity conditions.
Vertical gardens
design and installation of planted walls with support systems, integrated irrigation and selection of species suited to vertical growth.
Vision
Plants grow, change shape with the seasons, respond to light and microclimate. A well-designed garden accounts for this transformation over time and governs it through the choice of species, planting distances and the maintenance plan.
