Case & Stili - April 2019
Case & Stili includes Andromeda for OLEV, the pendant lamp designed by Francesco Meneghello with Davide Lanfranco, in the Euroluce selection of the April 2019 issue.
Case & Stili features Andromeda in its April 2019 issue, in a selection devoted to Euroluce. Designed by Francesco Meneghello with Davide Lanfranco for OLEV, the pendant lamp takes its name from the galaxy visible to the naked eye from Earth. The thirtieth edition of the lighting biennial had just been held in halls 9, 11, 13 and 15 at Fiera Milano Rho, with 421 exhibitors, during a Salone del Mobile dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci on the five-hundredth anniversary of his death.
The page’s title translates as ‘Technology and steel converge in LED lamps to create exotic and evocative atmospheres’. Alongside Andromeda are Nola by Defne Koz for Italamp, whose borosilicate glass diffuser recalls the top of a minaret in a tribute to the designer’s Turkish roots, and Abacus by Draw for Terzani, with spheres assembled in modules that evoke the oldest of calculating tools. Andromeda emits light both downwards and upwards, bringing a cosmic reference into the home.
