G&G Magazine - September 2022

G&G Magazine is the Italian design magazine launched by Casa Living in February 2017. Published digitally every two months, it covers craftsmanship, interiors and high-end homes for an international readership. In issue 34, autumn 2022, the feature on the industrial loft spans pages 80–87. It opens with a full-page photograph of the dining area, where Vittorio Paradiso’s U chairs are arranged around the table.

Designed by Vittorio Paradiso, the U chairs are produced by Paolo Castelli. The matt-black tubular metal frame defines their angled profile. The black leather seat fits over the backrest and through the armrests, appearing to hang within the frame. The design draws on modern furniture from the early decades of the twentieth century.

Pages 82 and 83 show the kitchen, made to a design by Francesco Meneghello in stainless steel with De Castelli’s DeDeep finish. The surface is oxidised by hand to a deep black with grey and blue glints, sealed beneath a clear protective coating.

The final page is devoted to the bedroom, with Piero Lissoni’s Extrasoft bed for Living Divani. Introduced in 2016, it developed from the seating system of the same name, launched in 2008 and composed of low, soft modules. The headboard is upholstered with a quilted goose-down pad sewn into separate compartments. In 2017, the bed received the Wallpaper* Design Award for ‘Best Sleepover’.
