Interiors Korea is the Korean monthly interiors magazine published by Gain Design Group since 1986, with a focus on spatial design. In issue 432, September 2022, the feature on the industrial loft opens with Douglas Gordon’s Untitled, a two-panel tapestry created by the Scottish artist in 2017 as a tribute to Gustave Courbet’s L’Origine du monde. Hand-tufted in wool and silk in an edition of fifty plus one artist’s proof, it is produced by Henzel Studio, which makes limited-edition rugs with contemporary artists.

In the dining area, the long table is made to a design by Francesco Meneghello in Pietra d’Avola, with its top resting on a single cylindrical base. The limestone is grey-brown, verging on black, with a honed surface.

Above the bed in the principal bedroom hangs a Cretto nero by Alberto Burri. Burri began making his Cretti in the 1970s, applying thick layers of kaolin, PVA glue and pigment that crack into a network of fissures as they dry. He varied the thickness of the material to control the density of the cracks, and limited the colour to black and white.
