igloo is the architecture and interiors magazine of Igloo Media, the independent Romanian publisher that has documented the country’s contemporary architecture for over twenty years and also publishes book series and yearbooks. In issue 211, December 2022, the feature on the industrial loft spans pages 100–103. The photograph of the living room shows de Sede’s DS-600 sofa in black full-grain leather.

Ueli Berger, Eleonore Peduzzi-Riva, Heinz Ulrich and Klaus Vogt designed the DS-600 in 1972 for de Sede, which began as a saddlers’ workshop in Klingnau, Switzerland. The sofa is made up of independent seating units, each with a rigid core wrapped in a leather-covered cushion. A plug-in hinge and a zipped leather connector join each unit to the next. The units vary in width and can be combined in unlimited numbers.
