Igloo spread (December 2022): Francesco Meneghello's Industrial Loft with sculptural stair, indoor olive tree and curved sofa

Perfecțiune monocromă is the title of the feature Iuliana Dumitru, editor at Igloo, dedicates to the Industrial Loft in London designed by Francesco Meneghello, published in the Proiecte internaționale section of the December 2022 issue of the Romanian architecture magazine founded in Bucharest in 2001. Across four pages, the article retraces the key spaces of the project. The opening spread focuses on the distinctive concrete staircase and the centuries-old olive tree, positioned opposite Rondo 120, the convex mirror by Oskar Zięta in mirror-polished stainless steel, made using the FIDU process patented by Zięta himself in 2007: two welded steel sheets are inflated with compressed air until they develop their own curvature, different in every piece.

Igloo spread: monolithic table, mezzanine and a skylit bedroom in the Industrial Loft in London

In the second spread Dumitru moves on to the dining area, the mezzanine and the master bedroom beneath the skylight, focusing on the mezzanine where a portrait of an English nobleman from the seventeenth century is displayed, an oil on canvas that still preserves its original gold-leaf frame. It is the only antique work in Francesco Meneghello's project, set against the raw concrete wall within an interior defined by brutalist architecture and contemporary furnishings.
